Simple blog
Date Added:     June 14, 2008
A very simple blog would be a great addition. Blogs can provide a means of notifying users of changes, events, etc. This interaction is good for the users as well as the site in general as it provides fresh content to what is normally just static recipe pages (with the exception of changing comments and ratings).

Allow admin users to create blog entries and allow registered users to add comments. This could probably be done using the existing code for comments. If it wouldn't be too much additional work, allowing an RSS feed would allow subscribers and blog monitoring services to be notified of the newly created blog entry.

I realize that a separate blogging engine could be installed, but then the users would have to register for another account to post or somehow figure out how to share the user information and get the page template to match.

Thanks again for the hard work you put into this fantastic project!

Donny

Here's a bunch of ideas
Date Added:     June 7, 2008
What a wonderful script! Thanks for letting us all enjoy it.

Here's a few suggestions:

1) Ajax star based rating instead of using the pulldown/form
2) Only allow registered users to vote and only allow one vote per recipe
3) SEO. Change the title of the recipe page to something like 'Beef Stew - Beef Recipes -- MyRecipeSite.com'. Also use recipe name and possibly ingredients in meta tags
4) Allow YouTube versions of recipes to be embedded on that recipe page similar to the way the pictures of the dish are handled.
5) Allow the above videos to be accessible in the videos page in list format
6) Allow admin to skip captcha validations when editing/adding recipes.

You've probably thought of all these already and I do realize that it takes time to implement them.

Thanks again! Best regards!
Chuck

give an option to turn off the approval process
Date Added:     May 7, 2008
It might sound crazy.. but.. I would like to find a way to turn off the approval process. My site is very private for several friends, I would rather just trust that they are entering descent information and allow it to be automatically submitted.

I can see why this might be usefull to you. I will look into adding this in the next version (v.92). It should be out soon.

Input box to give credit for a recipe.
Date Added:     April 9, 2008
A lot of times credit for the source of a recipe needs to be given (magazine, book, website, etc). A 'source' field at the bottom of the recipe (after the directions) would be appreciated.

This will be added in version v.92

adding an image while editing a recipe
Date Added:     March 31, 2008
I noticed that you can't add an image while editing a recipe. It would be nice if it was possible to do so.

Thanks for a great script

Left Menu Add-Ons
Date Added:     March 28, 2008
Hello,
I would like to make a suggestion to add under the top left menu under "home" the following: "new recipes" and "top rated". They are listed on the index page but their is no access to them beyond that page.

Thanks so much

CAPTCHA SECURITY ON EMAIL AND COMMENTS
Date Added:     March 17, 2008
HELLO,
I think you script is great. I would like to make a suggestion to have a security code entered on the email and comments to stop spamming.
Thanks you so much for creating the script. I will be sure to make a donation.

Thanks
Eileen

Course, Dish Type, Cuisine, Season/Occasion, etc
Date Added:     March 4, 2008
I don't need all these different options, and I am sure there are others who don't need them either. The problem is if you try to delete all the cuisines, or all of any one type the script causes an error when you try to submit a recipe.

On the site I am doing with your script the only thing I want is the category section. I don't need everything else, that's something I would like to see change, having the option to use all or some.

Setup a forum for your script users to ask questions and help each other.

It would be nice to be able to go on a forum and ask questions, it could even take some pressure off you answering everyones questions.

request feature
Date Added:     February 29, 2008
Hi,

Nice recipe script but Now a day folks love videos, it's nice if you can add-on features like allow upload video or embed youtube video?

Regards,
lou

The ability for members to upload videos could be a real problem width Hard Drive space for some. As for YouTube videos, there is already the videos link in the menu that takes you to the videos page that contains a youTube player with recipe related content.

Suggestions Welcome...
